T.S.S. Statement to the Client
In order to capture the most credible evidence possible, we require that the client adhere to a number of requests before and during the investigation of their property.
1.) We must insist that there be no smoking in or near the investigation site. Smoke can interfere with Video and Digital Imaging giving us false positives. If smoking is detected in the area around the investigation site we will discontinue the investigation until our requirements can be met. This is a scientific investigation, we consider the property we are investigating to be our laboratory and we need to be able to control our experimental conditions.
2.) We insist that everyone be clear-headed and free of drugs and alcohol. This request is not only for the safety of the client but also for the safety of our investigative personnel, this to can alter our ability to collect credible evidence and could lead to a (laboratory accident), remember the property is our laboratory.
3.) In some cases the client's friends or neighbors may be interested in the paranormal investigation and would like to be present. We understand this curiosity but require that only the clients be present during the investigation as we will have a number of investigators present and many pieces of highly sensitive equipment. As before we treat this as a scientific laboratory and need to the property a controlled environment.
Texas Spirit Seekers Experimental Protocol:
Discussion:
It is the goal of the T.S.S. investigation team to collect the most credible scientific data possible from a site where there is alleged paranormal activity. We do not make use of séances or Ouija boards in an attempt to collect evidence as these are not scientific approaches.
Prior to any investigation, the client will be interviewed by either the Case Manager or Assistant Case Manager. All information will be kept in the strictest confidence. Dates and times for the investigation will be discussed with the client and Client Agreement forms must be signed. The forms must be signed and given to the Case Manager before the investigation can begin. If the forms have not been filled out prior to the investigation the investigation will be canceled and rescheduled. No detailed information will be given to any investigators prior to or during an investigation. Divulging any information to any investigator prior to or during an investigation will disqualify the investigator from that investigation. The case manager or the Assistant Case Manager may join the investigative team on the investigation only as an observer if they have prior knowledge of the site in question. In order to reduce contamination of experimental data this procedure must be followed. Minor information must be given to the Tech Manager or Assistant Tech Manager, information such as where the activity occurs must be given for proper placement of cameras and focused investigation. No other information will be allowed.
The Case Manager, Lead Investigator and Tech or Assistant Tech manager will tour the property to locate prime positioning for cameras. Following the walk through the Tech Manager will designate personnel to set up DVR systems and surveillance cameras. The base of operations should be at a great enough distance from the locations in question as no to interfere with the investigation or contaminate collected data.
There is required equipment that must be carried by each team that enters into an investigation. A watch, note pad, camera, voice recorder, and video camera. Team members are encouraged to use their personal equipment as long as the data can be downloaded into the computer. EMF Meters can also be used to help in debunking phenomena, remember an EMF meter is not a ghost meter. A thermometer can be used as long as it has an ambient air temperature probe attached. There is some specialized equipment that can be used on a as needed bases. This equipment includes Thermal Imaging cameras, multispectral cameras, the Mini Box, Data Loggers for Temperature, Humidity and Dew Point, and an EC meter system. The lead investigator will determine wither or not the need exist.
Following the walkthrough by an investigative team, they will be debriefed by the lead investigator and collected data will be logged into the computer. All personal experiences will be noted. Any notes taken will be turned in. No team shall discuss their experiences during the duration of the investigation. Once you are placed on an investigative team you will stay with that team throughout the investigation.
When the investigation is completed, all equipment will be collected and stored. At this point all team experiences can be discussed at the investigation debrief.
Protocol:
1. The investigative team will enter the investigation noting the location, date and time they start. The video camera should be turned on at this time and documentation of the investigation will began.
2. Upon entering any room within the investigative area an audio recorder will be turned on. Names of team members, location, time, date and the room name will be recorded and an EVP session will began. A list of standard questions will be asked during the session. Following any question there should be a 20 second time space before the next question is asked. Most room sessions should last approximately 20 minutes.
3. Photographs should be taken both randomly, and during the duration of a perceived paranormal experience.
4. Any data collected, such as, EMF readings, temperature fluxuation's, etc. should be detailed both on audio and written in the notes.
5. Before leaving the room, the names of the team should be stated again, the room name, date and time and then the audio should be turned off until reaching the next room in the investigation.
6. After all room investigations have been completed, exit the investigation area noting location, team members date and time. Turn off video.
7. Team will be debriefed and data will be collected.
8. The next investigative team will repeat steps 1 - 7.
9. After all data has been downloaded; all instrumentation will be collected and stowed.
10. Group Debriefing.
A group of team members will be designated to analyze data. All evidence will be turned into the lead investigator no later than Friday the following week of the investigation. The lead investigator will prepare a report for the client and designate members to accompany him or her on the reveal. The Case Manager will then call the client and set a date for the reveal.
