TSS Youth Group

The TSS Youth Group is the brain child of my 11 year old son. He has been bugging me about going Ghost Hunting every time I take off to meet our group at an investigation. He asked me why he could not go and on some investigations, I didn’t have an answer. On many of our investigations we cannot allow children to go because of some very obvious reasons but there are others where I had no problem with it. Teresa and I both have children that are very interested in the paranormal and decided to start the TSS Youth. We currently have 3 youth members and have started putting them through the paces. We have started a training program for them, where they learn about the Scientific Method, equipment, theory, investigations, reporting, case management and just about every other aspect of the investigation. We also have started scheduling Youth only hunts where we take them to a location and let them run the show. We are there to help and answer questions but they run the investigation, review data and write the reports.

All of our youth are welcome to join any of the technical training’s that we offer throughout the year. This keeps them up to date on the equipment and allows them to use it on their investigations. The youth group will be adding rules, regulations, protocols, etc. as the group grows and adds new members, they will also be responsible for all of the TSS Youth web content. We look forward to what they have to add to our ever increasing group of investigators.

 Brandon’s Perspective

What can I say about ghost hunting? It’s really fun and exciting, but sometimes it can be more than you are expecting. Two things can happen on an investigation; 1. The place could be haunted or 2. It might not have anything. When on an investigation, you absolutely need to be PROFESSIONAL, no messing around talking, and be aware of what’s going on around you at all times. Listen to the lead Investigator no matter what. If you can’t do that then there is no way to know what to do. Sometimes it could lead to the contamination of evidence. If you have a question, don’t be afraid to ask, it shows you are willing to learn and be the best you can.

To me, ghost hunting is a suspense story; you never know what’s going to happen. One minute theirs dead silence the next you hear foot steps, a loud bang, or whispers. I had some personal experiences on the last two investigations I helped with. I heard foot steps from another room, someone calling out my name, cabinet’s slamming, and most recently, we where in the middle of setting up an investigation and I felt a sharp burning sensation on my lower back. I told one of our lead investigators about it. She lifted my shirt up and looked at my back; it was a large scratch in the middle of my back. She took me down to the group and explained to them what had happened. I was wearing two shirts at the time and know one was behind me.

The equipment I use is the most important part of an investigation. I use a digital recorder that records the investigation in hopes of picking up a voice or a noise we didn’t hear at the time (EVP’S). I also use a thermometer to record the temperature during an investigation, and a video recorder to document my investigation. I am currently working with the Eddy Current meter.

Being a ghost hunter is a serious deal. You have to be focused and professional. All I can say is do your best. Listen to your lead investigators, and you will be fine.

Vacant Building

Introduction:
We at Texas Spirit Seekers are always looking for that special location that has never had any reported paranormal experiences, never been investigated, or is in the process of restoration. This is the best place to test our hypothesis that the location in question is not haunted and that there is a logical explanation for any activity. This vacant building has never had any reported activity and is being used as a training investigation for the youth group.
Texas Spirit Seekers Youth is scientific in its approach to dealing with the paranormal and does not except the information gathered from Psychics, Séances or Ouija boards as this evidence can be tampered with by the individual giving the information, they have preconceived ideas about the paranormal before the start an investigation, they believe the place to be haunted before the go in the home.
