Vacant Building

Introduction:
We at Texas Spirit Seekers are always looking for that special location that has never had any reported paranormal experiences, never been investigated, or is in the process of restoration. This is the best place to test our hypothesis that the location in question is not haunted and that there is a logical explanation for any activity. This vacant building has never had any reported activity and is being used as a training investigation for the youth group.
Texas Spirit Seekers Youth is scientific in its approach to dealing with the paranormal and does not except the information gathered from Psychics, Séances or Ouija boards as this evidence can be tampered with by the individual giving the information, they have preconceived ideas about the paranormal before the start an investigation, they believe the place to be haunted before the go in the home.

History:
The vacant building has a big front room and there is a loft. We had very little information or history on the location, all we know that there has been a number of shops in the building, the owners used to live down stairs. It became vacant again a couple of years ago and there has been no reported paranormal activity in the building.

Personal Experiences:

Brandon: James and I went upstairs after about 10 minuets of investigating, we were by the banister that separates the room were I saw a white figure fly across the room but It was on the bottom floor and it was in view of the lattes wall witch is 10 feet above the floor, at that time I felt a hand go down my back, James says he didn’t do it. I heard footsteps, some shadows peeking out some whispers. On my 2nd sweep we heard some footsteps, but when we went up stairs I saw a shadow peak out and stay there for a few seconds, I pulled out my flashlight and asked if anyone was there, I heard clear as day a yes, Zach was whispering at the time but he didn’t say yes. After that we went downstairs, I went under the stair for 5 minutes I felt cold on my arm like something was holding on to me.

James: On investigating upstairs on the 1st sweep in the loft I was kneeling down asking questions, Brandon was about 3 feet away looking toward the stairwell it sounded like someone took a step but I kneeling and Brandon had not moved. When down stairs asking if someone wanted to play with the cord it felt like something tugged on the bottom of my vest sharply. 2nd sweep while up in the loft area the display on the camera started saying battery dead shutting down; I made a comment at the time Kim took a picture and said her camera just died. Both the camcorder and her camera where dead, so was the IR on camcorder. After which Zack Kim’s son had a L E D light on the whole time which I watched it drain down like an old bulb type flashlight then just came back up to full strength with no explanation and it never did that again. Also down stairs I turned on my laser pointer aiming it at the loft area when it seemed like someone walked through the beam deflecting it upward not straight on like it should, at the time Kim had said she heard clothes rubbing like walking by her, I had moved over by her when I heard it seemed to be on her right instead of her right where she first heard it. Later on Zack kept his flashlight toward the back stairs to which the extension cord was hanging down from the loft. Several times the light played tricks with it but one time it seemed to be in a different area. I walked up to it and looked at it for several seconds to realize it was swinging slightly. As I started to walk away asking questions Kim said that the cord seemed to move toward my back then stop. The cord though was running toward the back of the building so there would have been no way I would have caught the cord also she said I was away from the cord when it moved.

Kim: While we walked upstairs, I took a picture of James because he said “Whoa” then the video and IR died then my camera. Then Zack’s Flashlight L E D went dim then went back to normal. We walked downstairs when I tested to see if my camera was good, it was. While downstairs we like clothes shuffling then the extension cord move. Also when James shined his laser pointer to the 2nd floor, I saw it jumped like someone walked through it. On the next sweep as soon as we walked toward the back we heard a man talking, muffled couldn’t tell what was being said. Then Zack and I heard a noise came from the attic area. 2nd time up the stairs, my camera died again, a few minutes later back on and working.

Zack: Saw a shadow drop to the floor upstairs the moved away. Heard footsteps and saw some shadows at the bottom of the stairs .Heard a noise upstairs in the attic.

Comments:
This was a good investigation, we had a lot of personal experiences, and we saw shadows, heard voices. We didn’t know the full history of the place. We didn’t have our full equipment, but this was a really good place.

Conclusion:
This place gave us lot of good activity. We don’t have enough evidence to call this place haunted but we did have a lot of personal experiences to say this place does have paranormal activity. We are talking about having the whole team come out and conduct a full investigation with the whole equipment. Maybe next time we can get some more answers and know a little more history of the place.
